What happened in class today?
  • TOPIC: Jewish Resistance during the Holocaust
    • Active/ Armed Resistance
  • We discussed the details of the field trip to the Holocaust Museum tomorrow.
  • We discussed the difference between cultural/ spiritual and active/ armed resistance.
  • We watched an interview of two Holocaust survivors engaged in active/ armed resistance.
  • Today was my LAST day of teaching, and I gave what some could accurately describe as the best student teacher good-bye speech EVER!
What's happening tomorrow?
  • We are going on our field trip to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
  • You need to arrive at school by 6:45am!

    • Types of resistance
  • We discussed resistance - definition, examples, and purpose.
  • We discussed two types of resistance - cultural/ spiritual and active/ armed
  • We watched an interview with Holocaust survivor Roman Kent about resistance
  • We completed a worksheet worth 15 points!
What's happening tomorrow?
  • We are going to continue discussing Jewish resistance during the Holocaust

  • P3: Today we did a group activity that allowed students to finish their 34.2 Reading Notes.

  • P1: We will finish the 34.2 activity, and move onto 34.3.

What happened in class today?
  • P1: Today we changed our seats! We reviewed the chapter 34 vocabulary, and attempted to do a group activity based on the 34.2 Reading Notes. Unfortunately, our group work didn't get too far. But you know what they say, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again!"
  • P3: Today we started the World War II unit by completing a KWL chart and reading 34.1 together.
What's happening tomorrow?
  • P1: We are going to do a group activity based on 34.2.
  • P3: We are going to do a group activity based on 34.2.
Homework
  • P1: None, unless you did not complete your 34.2 Reading Notes.
  • P3: 1/9 of your 34.2 Reading Notes. Each person was assigned a box to complete.

What happened in class today?
  • P1: Today we started the unit on World War II by completing a KWL chart, an anticipation guide for 34.1, and reading 34.1 as a class. If you were absent today, you will need to complete the KWL chart and anticipation guide for ten (10) participation points.
  • P3: Today we discussed the Trayvon Martin case.
What's happening tomorrow?
  • P1: We are going to examine the four types of totalitarianism that rose to power before the start of WWII.
  • P3: We are going to start the unit on WWII.

  • We said a sad good-bye to facebooks for the YEAR after completing round six of our o' so favorite US history project.

What's happening on Monday?

  • It's a clean slate! Everyone starts off with a 100% as Q4 grades start. What's your resolution for the new quarter?
  • We are starting a brand new unit: World War II!
